The short version

Flitread is designed so your reading stays yours. Everything you import (books, articles, pasted text) is stored on your device and processed on your device. There is no Flitread account, and we run no servers that receive your library or your reading activity.

What the app stores

Your library, reading positions, per-book settings, and reading stats are stored locally on your iPhone (and in your device backups, which you control through iOS). Deleting the app deletes this data.

What leaves your device

Nothing, unless you initiate it: importing an article from a URL fetches that page directly from its publisher, and optional cover-art lookup queries a public book-cover search with the book’s title. Neither request includes any identity beyond a normal web request.

Purchases

Flitread is a one-time purchase ($3.99), billed entirely through Apple’s App Store. There is no subscription: nothing renews, and there is nothing to cancel. We never see your payment details.

This website

This site uses a self-hosted Umami instance, a cookieless, privacy-friendly analytics tool that collects aggregate page statistics only. No cookies are set, and no personal data is collected or sold.
